Inventory Data Unit and Snapshot Date

This document will cover the basics of the CM evolveIT Dashboard data unit snapshot. We will discuss what the data unit is and how multiple snapshots can be managed.  

After completing this document, you should be able to determine what data units are available on your system. You should also be able to navigate between multiple snapshots.    

1. Overview 

 In Dashboard, you can view your asset information per Inventory Data Unit. Also, you can view historical data based on Snapshot date you select. 

What is Inventory Data Unit? 

  • The Inventory Data Unit provides you predefined filtered Inventory view.
  • Two kinds of Inventory Units 
    • All Assets in Inventory 
    • Inventory with Object group    

 2. Inventory Data Unit Access Control 

 By combining User Group, you can control the Inventory Data Unit accessible by the specific User. Following logics are used to determine what the Inventory Data Unit is selectable for the user.  

  • List User group(s) the current login user belongs 
  • List Inventories that User Group (s) are associated 
  • List Object Groups that User Group-Inventory set are associated 

 AllUser User Group 

  • For your convenience, there is a predefine AllUser User Group provided. 
  • When a new user or new Inventory is created, it is automatically associated with this the ALLUser Group.  

Disable AllUser Group 

  • If you prefer to use your User Groups and want to disable AllUser User Group,  
  • Disassociates all users and inventories from the AllUser User Group. 

 3. What is Snapshot Date? 

The Snapshot Date provides the historical View of your Dashboard data.  

The Snapshot Date is created for each Dashboard Inventory Transform Process. 

You can select a Snapshot date in the drop-down on the Dashboard page. 

 


 

 4. Selecting the Snapshot Date means: 

 All Dashboard figures are for the Selected Snapshot Date 

Trend Chart right edge data point is set based on the selected Snapshot Date.
