Dashboard - User Group

This document will cover the basics of the CM EvolveIT Dashboard user mapping.   There will be a discussion of how to create user groups and set user authority within the group. We will look at how to assign inventories to groups as well as how to Object Groups to User Groups.  

After completing this document, you should have a basic understanding of the CM EvolveIT Dashboard assignment of user groups, inventories, and object groups.  

 

1. Log in to the dashboard with a valid dashboard user id.  

You need to have User Group Management Permissions.  

There is a built-in administrator that can be used for setup initially.  

Built-in administrator (Default Password is ‘admin@1234!’) 

 


 

Once logged in the dashboard view will display.  




 

2. Select the User Group menu option.  

Administrator -> User Management -> User Group 

AllUser Group 

  • AllUser is the default user group.  
  • All users and inventories belong to the AllUser group by default. 
  • You can un-assign users and inventories from the AllUser user group. 
  • If you grant all CM EvolveIT access everything or your user count is small, use AllUser user group. 
  • If you want to manage CM EvolveIT users, the User Group feature is for you to manage users. 


3. Add User Group 

Click on the “New” button on user group UI.  

The pop-up will display.  

Fill out proper information  

Click on the “Add” button to create a user group or “Cancel” button to cancel. 

 



 

4. Edit User Group 

Click on the edit icon  

The pop-up will display. 

You can edit the user group name, then click on the “Save” button. 




5. Delete User Group 

Click on trash icon 

Confirm pop-up will display.  

Click on the “Yes” button to delete this user group or “Cancel” button to cancel. 



6. Assign users to a User Group. 

Click on the edit icon to assign a user(s) to the user group.  

The pop-up will display. There are two tables including Unassigned Users and Assigned Users.  

  • All available users that don’t belong to this a user group are in the Unassigned Users table.  
  • All users that belong to this user group are in the Assigned Users table. 

To assign a user to a user group, use one of the following methods. 

  • Select users and click the right arrow to move the users to the Assign Users table. 
  • Select users then drag and drop to the Assign Users table in the Assign Users table. 

To remove users from a user group, use one of the following methods. 

  • Select users and click the left arrow to the move the users to the Unassigned Users table. 
  • Select users then drag and drop to the Unassigned Users table.  

All users in a table can be selected by selecting the checkbox in the column header. 

Users can be searched for by User Id in each table.  



7. Assign inventories to the user group.

Assigning an Inventory to a specific user group to grant the user group access to the inventory. 

Click on the paper plane icon to assign/un-assign inventories from/to the user group.  

A pop-up will display. There are two tables including Unassigned Inventories and Assigned Inventories.  

  • All available inventories that don’t belong to this user group are in the Unassigned Inventories table.  
  • All inventories that belong to this user group are in the Assigned Inventories table. 

Assign inventories to a user group by using one of the following methods: 

  • Select an inventory check-box, then click the right arrow to move the inventory to the Assigned Inventories table. 
  • Click on an inventory then drag and drop the inventory in the Assigned Inventories table.  

To un-assign inventories 

  • Select an inventory check-box, then click the left arrow to move the inventory to the Unassigned Inventories table.  
  • Click on an inventory then drag and drop the inventory to the Unassigned Inventories table.  

All inventories in a table can be selected by selecting the checkbox in the column heading. 

Inventories can be searched for by name in each table. 

 


 

8. Assign object groups to user group-inventory set 

Assigning object groups to a user group-inventory, grants users in the group access to an inventory by object group. The unit is available in Data Unit Selection List. 

Make sure the Inventory of interest has at least one object group associated. 

Click the yellow icon in Action Column to open the Assign Object Groups to User Group pop up screen. 

 


 

There are two tables including Unassigned Object Groups and Assigned Object Groups.  

  • All available object groups that do not belong to this user group-inventory set are in the Unassigned Users table.  
  • All object groups belong to this user group-inventory set are in the Assigned Users table. 

To assign an object group to an available user group-inventory set, use one of the following methods. 

  • Select object groups and click the right arrow to assign the object groups to the user group-inventory set. 
  • Click and drag and drop one or more object groups to assign the object groups user group-inventory set. 

To remove an object group from a user group-inventory set, use one of the following methods. 

  • Select object groups and click the left arrow to remove the object groups from the user group-inventory set. 
  • Click and drag and drop one or more object groups to the unassigned object groups table. 

 

All object groups in the table can be selected by placing a checkbox on the column header. 

You can search by object group name in each table.
