This document will cover the basics of the CM evolveIT Dashboard Asset Query.

Asset Query is available from Asset Browser

1. What is Asset Query for?  

This feature provides predefined search statements for each asset type processed for the current inventory database opened. It makes it easier for you to find data according to the most used queries.

1.1. Searching asset

+ Select Dashboard -> Asset Browser-> Asset Type-> Item Query [New]
 This sample uses “Copybook”’ as asset type



+ Select Dashboard -> Search-> Asset Query 


 

Select Group and Asset Query then click the ‘Search’ button.

Search Input:

-          Group: Target sources (asset type). If you select ‘Copybook’, it only searches Copybook sources.

o   Default is Application Program,

o   Select any other options, like Application Program, Copybook, JCL etc.

-          Asset Query: Depended on Group. Asset Query will be different for difference group.

 

Below image is as a result searching ‘List never called programs’ for ‘Application Program’.



What did you read from the result?

            -       179 items are hit.

 

            -       Display each hit item type with icon. (Type column)

o  

            -       Action you can take.

o     Open Item Detail

o     Open Diagram Viewer  

            -       Export entire result as json or csv files.

 


After the search, the assets would be listed. Click the blue street view icon to get to the asset Detail screen.
